LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 24th Aug, 2026) National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Lahore arrested a man
from Rahim Yar Khan for allegedly blackmailing foreign women using their
photographs and personal information, demanding money and threatening
to share their pictures with family members and on social media.
According to the NCCIA, the accused, identified as Muhammad Salman,
allegedly possessed photographs and personal information of several
women and used the material to contact and blackmail them for monetary gains.
During the investigation, it emerged that the suspect had allegedly gained
unauthorised access to the personal information and private data of women
living in houses where he worked during his employment abroad. After returning
to Pakistan, he allegedly used the information and photographs for blackmailing
purposes.
The agency said the accused possessed fake and objectionable photographs
of women and allegedly sent messages to them demanding money while threatening
to circulate their pictures and personal information on social media platforms and
share them with their relatives and other family members if they failed to pay.
A team of NCCIA Lahore arrested Muhammad Salman from Rahim Yar Khan
and recovered a mobile phone and SIM card from his possession.
A case has been registered against the accused and further investigation was underway.
NCCIA Punjab Director Muhammad Ali Wasim said indiscriminate action would
continue against elements involved in cyber blackmailing, harassment of women
and the misuse of fake photographs and private information.
