LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 24th Aug, 2026) The Punjab Environmental Protection Agency has intensified its actions against environmental polluters.
During the past month, large-scale actions have been taken against brick kilns, industrial units, plastic users, construction sites and those discharging contaminated water.
According to the Punjab Environmental Protection Agency, 5,223 inspections of brick kilns were conducted in a month, during which 79 kilns were demolished and 29 were sealed, while 45 cases were registered against kiln owners and a fine of Rs. 5.15 million was imposed. Action was also taken against industrial polluting units.
Authorities checked 2,392 industrial units, out of which 26 units were demolished and 96 were sealed, while a fine of Rs 95.
72 million was imposed for violations.
During the action against those violating plastic laws, 37,433 kilograms of banned plastic were seized in a month. 407 places were sealed while 5 cases were registered. During the total actions, a fine of Rs 26.32 million was also imposed.
A crackdown was also taken against construction dust and fugitive dust. During the checking of 228 under-construction places, 135 notices were issued, while 45 places were sealed and mist sprinklers were installed at 30 places.
In the action against those polluting water, 45 places were checked, 6 notices were issued and two places were sealed. The Punjab Environmental Protection Agency has made it clear that no concession will be made to those who violate environmental laws.
