Seerat Conference Held At Alhamra To Highlight Teachings Of Holy Prophet (PBUH)


LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 23rd Aug, 2026) A Seerat Conference 2026 was held at Alhamra Cultural Complex, Gaddafi Stadium, here on Sunday to commemorate Rabi-ul-Awal and highlight the teachings, character and universal message of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

The conference was jointly organized by the Lahore Arts Council (Alhamra), Growth Ventures and Global Media Communication and was attended by prominent religious scholars, writers, poets, Naat reciters, artists, public representatives and people from different walks of life.

The programme began with recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (PBUH). Shehzad Roshan Gilani delivered the opening remarks. Naat and speech competitions were also held, providing participants an opportunity to showcase their recitation, literary and oratory skills.

A special panel discussion titled “Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) and the Contemporary World” was hosted by Haneen Zaidi. Pir Tariq Sharifzada, Syed Ejaz Bukhari, Hafiz Muhammad Usman and Mufti Muhammad Ahmed Shahbaz participated in the discussion and highlighted the relevance of the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) teachings in the contemporary world. They emphasized the need to translate these teachings into practical aspects of everyday life.

The speakers said that Rabi-ul-Awal provides an opportunity to seek guidance from the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), adopt His noble values and convey His message of mercy, compassion, peace and humanity to younger generations.

Distinguished guests included Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Ashrafi, Pir Tariq Sharifzada, Syed Mehboob Shah Bukhari, Member Provincial Assembly Samia Atta Shahani, Mufti Muhammad Ahmed Shahbaz and Haneen Zaidi, among others.

The Naat competition was judged by Al-Haj Akhtar Rasool Qureshi and Naveed Akram, while Asghar Ali, Muhammad Imran and Jamshed Qaiser adjudicated the calligraphy competition. Cash prizes and certificates were distributed among outstanding performers in the Naat and speech competitions.

The conference concluded with a Naat Mushaira, in which renowned poets, including Zahid Bukhari, Tauqeer Sharifi, Wahid Ameer, Sultan Mahmood, Shahmeer Mughal, Azaan Nasir, Saghir Ahmed Saghir, Zafar-ul-Haq Chishti, Abdul Razzaq Azad and Umar Ahmar, presented their poetry expressing devotion and love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH). The session was conducted by Shariq Ali and presided over by Sadiq Jameel.

At the conclusion, MPA Samia Atta Shahani, Arif Taibi and Shehzad Roshan Gilani presented shields to distinguished guests in recognition of their participation and contribution to the conference.
