LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 23rd Aug, 2026) Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA) office-bearers said on Sunday that the extraordinary interest of buyers from different countries to participate in the 42nd World Exhibition of Handmade Carpets organized in collaboration with the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan is very encouraging.
Chairing The PCMEA review meeting here, Association’s Chairman Mian Atiq-ur-Rehman and the Exhibition Chairman Riaz Ahmed said that so far, more than 50 foreign buyers have registered, while this number is expected to exceed 100. The aim of the international exhibition is to find new buyers for Pakistan’s handmade carpet industry, obtain export orders and further strengthen the position of this industry at the global level.
The meeting reviewed the preparations for the world exhibition, while Patron-in-Chief Abdul Latif Malik, Chairperson Carpet Training Institute, Ijaz-ur-Rehman, Senior Member Usman Ashraf, Saeed Khan were also present and, the representatives of the committees set up for preparations for the world exhibition gave a detailed briefing on the arrangements.
Mian Atiq-ur-Rehman and Riaz Ahmed said that Pakistani handmade carpets have a prominent place in the global market due to their high quality, unique and modern designs, however, direct contacts with global buyers and effective marketing are indispensable for increasing exports.
They hoped that world exhibition will prove to be an important platform for obtaining new export orders and accessing new global markets for Pakistani carpets.
They urged manufacturers and exporters who have secured stalls in the world exhibition to display products decorated with high quality and modern designs and also arrange sideline meetings with foreign buyers for strong business ties in the future.
They said that we are determined that through the world exhibition, Pakistan’s carpet industry will be further highlighted at the global level, which will enable a significant increase in export volume.
The meeting also expressed its determination that all kinds of best facilities will be provided to foreign buyers, which will highlight the positive image of Pakistan at the global level.
