LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 23rd Aug, 2026) A special crackdown against underage,unlicensed and three-rider motorcyclists will be carried out across the city today to ensure safe travel,Chief Traffic Officer(CTO) Lahore,Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi said on Sunday.
According to the CTO, a general hold-up will be conducted across Lahore against underage drivers, people driving vehicles or motorcycles without valid licenses and three-rider motorcyclists.
He said underage drivers found violating traffic laws would be issued challans and their vehicles or motorcycles impounded.
The impounded motorcycle of an underage rider would only be released upon production of a juvenile permit, he added.
Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi said children often took motorcycles, cars or rickshaws from their homes and drove them on roads during holidays,posing a threat to their own lives as well as those of other citizens.
He clarified that driving on a learner’s permit was not allowed and said driving without a license would attract a fine of Rs.5000,while the fine for motorcycle driving without a license was Rs.2000 along with impoundment of the vehicle.
The CTO said a special hold-up would also be conducted outside license offices,where motorcyclists would be facilitated in obtaining driving licenses.
He directed circle officers to ensure that the crackdown was carried out under their supervision, reiterating that underage driving and driving without a valid license would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
