KARACHI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 22nd Aug, 2026) A seminar on ‘The Rise of Gen Z in South Asia’ was held at the Pakistan Institute of International Affairs (PIIA) at its library here on Saturday.
The seminar was organized by the PIIA.
Addressing the event, Meritorious Professor Dr. Moonis Ahmar of Department of International Relations and former Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Karachi shed light on Gen Z in Pakistan. He also spoke on the role of Gen Z in the country keeping view the events in the South Asia.
Eminent coloumnist and Research Scholar Nadeem F. Paracha, International Forum for Democratic Studies, Washington DC delivered his speech on the ‘The manufactured politics of Generation X’.
Another speaker of the event, Assistant Professor Dr Sajjad Ahmad Department of Social Sciences & Liberal Arts, school of Economics and Social Sciences, Institute of business Administration addressed the participants on the ‘Gen Z rising: Protests, political change and the struggle for stability’.
He highlighted the role of Gen Z in today’s politics and movements.
Researcher, Syed Ehsan Ali Shah of the Pakistan Institute of International Affairs spoke about the ‘Gen Z: The new architects of digital nationalism in South Asian politics.
Later, the speakers also replied to the questions raised by the participants of the seminar.
