GUJRAT, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 22nd Aug, 2026) The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) conducted 47 inspections across Gujrat
district on the directions of Deputy Director Sadia Rafat to ensure compliance
with food safety standards.
According to an official source, improvement notices were issued to 18 food outlets,
while four businesses were fined a total of Rs 60,000 for violations.
The inspection teams also issued an Emergency Prohibition Order (EPO) and
discarded one kilogramme of expired food items.
The PFA officials said strict enforcement of food safety laws would continue across
the district to ensure the provision of safe and quality food to the public. They said no
negligence would be tolerated in matters concerning public health.
