Over 50000 Litres Of Adulterated Milk Discarded

PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 21st Aug, 2026) The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety Authority has intensified its campaign against adulterated milk in the provincial capital, discarding more than 50,000 litres of substandard milk during a month-long inspection drive.

The authority tested 1,205 milk samples during the campaign, with 267 samples failing to meet prescribed quality standards.

Authorities also imposed fines totalling Rs4.76 million on violators, said the spokesman on Friday.

The inspections detected the presence of water, chemicals, caustic soda and formalin in some milk samples, raising concerns over public health and food safety.

The Authority said monitoring and inspections would be further strengthened to curb milk adulteration and ensure consumers receive safe and quality milk.
