SIALKOT, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 21st Aug, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Sialkot Awais Mushtaq chaired a meeting of organisers of 12 Rabi-ul-Awal processions and Milad gatherings and reviewed arrangements for the religious events across the district.
According to a DC Office spokesperson, DPO Captain (retd) Dost Muhammad and District Peace Committee Coordinator Hafiz Asghar Ali Cheema also attended the meeting. Arrangements for 187 Milad processions and 40 gatherings were reviewed, including cleanliness, security and other facilities along their routes.
The DC said cooperation of religious scholars was essential for maintaining peace and harmony in the district.
He directed the administration to complete lighting and decoration arrangements before 11 Rabi-ul-Awal and asked WASA and the District Council to ensure cleanliness.
He directed organisers to ensure that processions followed designated routes and timings and complied with the code of conduct.
DPO Dost Muhammad said Sialkot would host the highest number of Milad programmes in the division. He said foolproof security would be provided to all processions and warned that no one would be allowed to create unrest.
He said the Sialkot police had finalised a security plan and urged organisers to keep their volunteers active and cooperate with security personnel.
