ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 20th Aug, 2026) Speaker of National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq Thursday said that terrorism is a grave crime against humanity and a serious threat to global peace and security.
He paid rich tribute to the innocent civilians, brave personnel of the security forces and law-enforcement agencies who embraced martyrdom in acts of terrorism, saying that their sacrifices will always be remembered.
He expressed these views in his message on the occasion of the International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism, observed every year on August 21.
Ayaz Sadiq said that Pakistan has been fighting the scourge of terrorism for decades, during which the entire nation has rendered unparalleled sacrifices.
He said that the sacrifices of the brave soldiers and innocent civilians who embraced martyrdom in the fight against terrorism constitute an indelible chapter in the national history.
He reaffirmed that the sacrifices of the martyrs will never go in vain and that the nation will always hold its martyrs and their families in the highest esteem and respect.
Ayaz Sadiq has said that Pakistan’s security forces and law-enforcement agencies are playing a commendable role on the front lines in the fight against terrorism with courage and professionalism.
He said that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its brave security forces and that their sacrifices for the defence, peace and security of the country are a source of immense pride for the nation.
Ayaz Sadiq said that the Indian-backed Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan are pursuing nefarious designs to undermine Pakistan’s peace, security and stability.
He said that terrorist elements seek to spread fear and terror by targeting innocent civilians and undermine peace and stability in the country; however, they will never succeed in their nefarious designs.
He said that every conspiracy against Pakistan and every attempt to create unrest in the country will be decisively thwarted through collective efforts by the nation and state institutions.
Ayaz Sadiq said that national unity and effective cooperation among state institutions are essential in the fight against terrorism.
He said that indiscriminate action against terrorists and their facilitators will continue and that those seeking to undermine the country’s peace and stability will not be allowed to succeed.
The Speaker emphasized the need to further strengthen the national resolve for the complete eradication of terrorism.
Ayaz Sadiq said that under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam, the security forces are continuing effective operations against terrorist elements.
He reaffirmed that the struggle against terrorism will continue until its complete eradication.
Ayaz Sadiq expressed confidence that the entire nation, together with the Security Forces, will remain united in the fight against the scourge of terrorism and ensure lasting peace, stability and security in Pakistan.
Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, in his message on the occasion, said that the International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism provides an opportunity to remember and pay tribute to the innocent civilians and brave security personnel who laid down their lives for the peace and security of the country.
He said that the suffering of families affected by terrorism and their sacrifices are unforgettable.
Deputy Speaker said that the people of Pakistan have demonstrated extraordinary resolve, courage and resilience in the fight against terrorism.
Mustafa Shah said that the entire nation stands with its security forces in the fight against terrorism.
He reaffirmed that through national unity, solidarity and collective resolve, the scourge of terrorism will be completely eradicated.
