The association would focus on reducing linguistic and cultural barriers and creating opportunities for meaningful exchanges in education, culture, business and social activities.
Dr Butt also announced plans to establish an Alumni Chapter for Pakistanis who had studied at Chinese educational institutions. The chapter would provide former students with a platform to remain connected and contribute to further strengthening Pakistan-China relations.
The association plans to commemorate important national and cultural occasions of both countries and organise seminars, conferences, exhibitions, cultural festivals, language programmes and exchange visits. It would also seek cooperation among educational institutions, think tanks, businesses and civil society organisations.
Former Walled City of Lahore Authority Director General Kamran Lashari congratulated the newly elected office-bearers and expressed confidence in Dr Butt’s leadership.
Former Vice Chancellor of Government College University Lahore Dr Hassan A. Shah also extended his best wishes to the association.
