CAIRO, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM – 20th Aug, 2026) The Central Bank of Egypt’s (CBE) Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) kept its key interest rates unchanged at its latest meeting, maintaining a cautious stance as it assesses inflation trends and the economic outlook.
The overnight deposit rate was held at 19 %, while the overnight lending rate remained at 20 %.
The rate of the main operation and the discount rate were also kept unchanged at 19.5 % each.
