ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 19th Aug, 2026) Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Wednesday issued a traffic advisory as heavy rain continued to lash the Federal capital, urging motorists and motorcyclists to reduce speed, maintain a safe distance and exercise extra caution on wet roads.
An ITP official told APP that motorists should keep a safe distance from vehicles ahead, avoid unnecessary speeding and remain within their designated lanes during rainfall.
The official advised drivers to use fog lights where needed, particularly when visibility was reduced, and ensure proper use of side mirrors, indicators and seat belts while driving.
Motorcyclists were advised to remain in the extreme left lane, avoid risky manoeuvres and wear helmets at all times.
The official said ITP personnel were deployed on roads across the capital to facilitate commuters, regulate traffic and provide guidance during the rainy weather.
Citizens were also advised to remain alert to changing road conditions and follow traffic instructions to avoid accidents and unnecessary inconvenience.
