PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 18th Aug, 2026) Police in Bannu district on Tuesday foiled a major sabotage attempt after recovering and safely defusing suspected explosive material near the University of Science and Technology in Township.
Police said following the information about the suspected material, Township Police Station SHO Javed Rasool Khan along with a police team immediately reached the site and cordoned off the area.
Police secured the location and restricted public movement as a precautionary measure.
The Bomb Disposal Unit also arrived at the scene and safely neutralized the suspected explosive material. Police said the timely operation helped prevent potential damage in Township and surrounding areas.
Police said investigation into the incident is underway, while legal proceedings have been initiated to identify and apprehend those involved in the alleged sabotage attempt.
