MULTAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 19th Aug, 2026) Pakistan Greens all-rounder Faheem Ashraf praised the fighting spirit of Pakistan Gold players, saying their hard work and resilience in challenging hot conditions deserved full credit for their victory.
Talking to media after the match, Faheem said the intense heat made conditions difficult, but the players showed great determination and gave their best on the field.
“It was extremely hot, but our boys gave everything. Shamyl, Saad and the other players of Gold also deserve credit for today’s victory,” he said. Faheem said the team did not get the start it wanted but the players responded well and continued to fight throughout the match. He said there was still ample time before the World Cup and players would get several opportunities in domestic cricket to improve their performances and prepare themselves for international cricket.
“Our new players who are participating in the tournament have the ability to play for Pakistan. They need to use domestic cricket to further improve their performances,” he said.
Faheem said individual performances could sometimes go unnoticed when a team failed to win, stressing that team success remained important.
Commenting on Shaheen Shah Afridi’s performance, he said the pacer’s seven-wicket haul was exceptional and his spell stood out from the rest.
“Shaheen’s seven-wicket spell was completely different. It was an outstanding performance,” Faheem added.
