PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 17th Aug, 2026) Schools in the summer zone of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reopened on Monday after the summer vacation, with the Elementary and Secondary Education Department suspending morning assemblies for the remaining days of August.
According to a notification issued by the Directorate of Elementary and Secondary Education, morning assemblies at middle, high and higher secondary schools in the summer zone will remain suspended from August 17 to 31, 2026.
However, regular academic activities will continue during the period, the notification said.
Schools in the winter zone, including Primary, middle, high and higher secondary institutions, will continue functioning according to their existing schedule and timetable.
The department said all schools across the province would resume their normal routine and timetable from September 1.
The concerned district education officers and monitoring officers have been directed to ensure implementation of the instructions.
