RAWALPINDI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 17th Aug, 2026) The Punjab Counter Narcotics Force (PCNF) Murree has arrested a suspected drug dealer and recovered more than one kilogramme of hashish and 50 grammes of ice (crystal methamphetamine) during a crackdown against drug trafficking in the hill resort.
According to an official handout issued by the Department of Public Relations, Punjab, Rawalpindi Division, the PCNF’s Narcotics Control Station (NCS) in Murree apprehended one suspect allegedly involved in drug smuggling.
Official said 1,052 grammes of hashish and 50 grammes of ice were recovered from the suspect.
A case has been initiated while further investigation is underway.
Director of the PCNF Murree, Colonel (retired) Murad Ali Khan, said the authorities would not allow anyone to endanger the lives and health of citizens through drug trafficking.
He said the force was pursuing a zero-tolerance policy against drug dealers and that a crackdown was being intensified against those involved in the illicit trade.
“Our commitment is to a drug-free, healthy and safe Punjab,” he said, urging citizens to cooperate with law-enforcement authorities and report individuals involved in drug trafficking. The public can report suspected drug-related activities to the authorities through the helpline 1012.
