PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 17th Aug, 2026) At least three landmine explosions were reported in Kurram district in three days, leaving nine people seriously injured and triggering fear and panic among local residents.
According to local police on Monday, all three explosions occurred in the remote Dandar Sahara area of Kurram. In the morning blast, a laborer identified as Hamid Hussain lost both legs after triggering a landmine the other day.
Two more people were injured in separate incidents later on the same day.
According to local reports, three young men have suffered severe injuries resulting in permanent disabilities in the recent incidents.
Police said that several incidents involving landmines and falling mortar shells have been reported in Kurram during the past week. A total of nine people have reportedly been injured in such incidents over the last three days.
The repeated incidents have caused concern among residents, who have urged the authorities to locate and clear landmines from the area to prevent further casualties.
