LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 16th Aug, 2026) Under the auspices of the Higher education Commission (HEC), a joint art exhibition titled ‘Ranai-e-Khayal-o-Khatt’ has been organised for the first time in collaboration with the University of the Punjab’s College of Art and Design and the National College of Arts (NCA).
The exhibition brings together the creative works of faculty members and alumni of the two historic and renowned art institutions on a common platform. More than 300 paintings, sculptures and other works of art are being displayed in the exhibition halls of both institutions.
Chairman HEC Pakistan Niaz Ahmed Akhtar formally inaugurated the exhibition at the College of Art and Design. The event marks an important milestone in strengthening academic, artistic and creative collaboration between the University of the Punjab and the National College of Arts.
The exhibition is particularly significant as it marks the first time that the two historic and prominent art institutions have come together for a joint, large-scale artistic activity of this kind.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Niaz Ahmed Akhtar said artists possess the ability to portray different aspects of society in the most effective and compelling ways. He highlighted the importance of art and artists in reflecting society, culture and contemporary realities.
The exhibition provides a unique opportunity for faculty members, alumni, students and art enthusiasts to experience the diverse artistic perspectives and creative traditions associated with the two leading institutions.
