WAH CANTT, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 16th Aug, 2026) Minister of State for Law and Justice Barrister Aqeel Malik on Sunday said the creation of new provinces or additional administrative units alone would not resolve Pakistan’s governance challenges, stressing that fundamental reforms in the bureaucratic structure were urgently needed to improve public service delivery.
Speaking to journalists at the inauguration of a business centre in Wah Cantt, the minister said merely redrawing administrative boundaries could not address the country’s governance issues. He stressed that the real requirement was to build an efficient and responsive bureaucracy capable of delivering public services effectively, making timely decisions and ensuring accountability.
Barrister Aqeel Malik said administrative reforms were “the real need of the hour,” adding that authority, responsibility and accountability within the government machinery must be clearly defined. Without restructuring the administrative system, he said, meaningful improvements in governance and service delivery would remain difficult to achieve.
PML-N Attock District President Haji Malik Umar Farooq and other party leaders were also present at the inauguration ceremony.
