KOHAT, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 16th Aug, 2026) Kohat Police on Sunday arrested five suspects and recovered hand grenades, pistols, a 12-bore repeater and a quantity of ammunition during an intelligence-based search and strike operation conducted against criminal elements, proclaimed offenders and other suspects in different areas of the district. The operation was carried out on the directions of DPO Kohat SSP Rai Mazhar Iqbal.
According to police, a joint operation was conducted within the jurisdiction of Bilitang Police Station in Kamal Khel, Daud Khel, Mandakhel and Shadi Khel. The operation was supervised by SP Sadar Ehsan Shah and led by DSP Gumbat Sajjad Haider, with police teams conducting raids at suspected hideouts and carrying out extensive search checks at various locations.
The arrested suspects were identified as Shoaib, son of Rehman Gul; Owais, son of Nazar Muhammad; Abdul Rehman, son of Noor Badshah; Haroon, son of Banaras; and Abid Khan, son of Pyao Khan. Four of the suspects were residents of Kamal Khel, while Abdul Rehman belonged to Daud Khel, police said.
During the searches, police recovered four hand grenades, two pistols and one 12-bore repeater, along with a substantial quantity of ammunition. Cases have been registered against the arrested suspects under relevant laws, while further investigation is underway.
