KARACHI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 15th Aug, 2026) Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi took oath as the Chief Scout of Sindh.
The Provincial Scout Commissioner Justice (Retd.) Hassan Feroze administered the oath to the Governor at a ceremony held in Karachi.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor Hashmi said scouting is an important means of instilling patriotism, discipline and a spirit of public service among young people.
He stressed the need to revive and promote scouting in schools and colleges across the province.
He said that for the true development of nations, technology alone was not enough, adding that a strong ideology, discipline, knowledge and good character were equally essential.
The Governor emphasized the need to inculcate in young people a love for Pakistan, a commitment to serving the country and a spirit of helping others.
Recalling the role of scouts in the past, he said scouts used to play a prominent role in national events and also served as ambassadors of Pakistan.
The Governor Hashmi called for renewed efforts to promote Scouts, Girl Guides and the National Cadet Corps, saying these institutions could play a vital role in character-building and preparing the younger generation for national service.
He said that Pakistan in 2047 should be a country where scouts and Girl Guides from every school and college actively contribute to the service of the nation and its people.
Earlier, the Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi also participated in the tree plantation campaign by planting a sapling.
