PINS Inaugurates Neurology Unit 2, 20-bed Neuro Critical Care Unit


LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 15th Aug, 2026) The Punjab Institute of Neurosciences (PINS) on Saturday formally inaugurated its

Neurology Unit 2 along with a state-of-the-art 20-bed Neuro Critical Care Unit, aimed

at providing modern and timely treatment to patients suffering from neurological

disorders.

The new Neuro Critical Care Unit has been established with the cooperation and financial

support of philanthropists, reflecting a strong commitment to serving humanity and improving

access to advanced medical care.

Chairman board of Management PINS Captain (R) Zahid Saeed said the establishment of

Neurology Unit 2 and the Neuro Critical Care Unit was an important step towards further

progress of the institute. He said the new facilities would improve treatment and care for

neurological patients.

Prof Dr Qasim Bashir said the new unit would help provide better and more timely treatment

to neurological patients while further improving the standard of care for neuro-critical cases.

Executive Director PINS Prof Dr Asif Bashir said the establishment of the new unit was a significant

step towards providing modern medical facilities. He said further measures were also being

taken at PINS to ensure quality, advanced and effective healthcare services.

He said the new Neuro Critical Care Unit was equipped with advanced medical technology and continuous monitoring systems to provide quality treatment to complex and critically ill neurological patients.

Prof Asif Bashir said the initiative was in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam

Nawaz Sharif, under which provision of quality, modern and equitable healthcare facilities to

people of the province remained a top priority.

He said the PINS administration was committed to providing effective and timely medical

care to patients round the clock.

Medical experts said the objective of the new unit was to provide modern, effective and quality

medical care to neurological patients on a 24-hour basis, ensuring that patients visiting PINS receive

the best possible treatment.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Chairman BoM PINS Captain (R) Zahid Saeed, Executive Director PINS Prof Dr Asif Bashir, Prof Dr Qasim Bashir, MS Prof Dr Umar Ishaq and other senior doctors.

Principal Prof Dr Farooq Afzal, Dr Faryad Hussain, Prof Jodat Saleem, Prof. Mohsin Zaheer, Prof Nighat,

Prof Saira, Dr Almas Bashir, Dr Adnan Khalid and Asia Khanam were also present.
