HYDERABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 15th Aug, 2026) The Sindh Women Development Department helped recover an Indonesian woman who was allegedly being held hostage by her husband at his residence in Qasimabad.
On an application of the department’s official Nasreen Palijo before a court, Naseem Nagar police here on Saturday produced Inda Marian before the court where she recorded her statement. The police also detained her husband, Hamza.
According to Palijo, her department received an online complaint earlier this week from Marian in which she narrated her alleged ordeals. The woman claimed that her passport and other documents were in possession of her husband.
Palijo said she first approached the Qasimabad police to help the department recover the woman but the police did not cooperate.Indonesian diplomats also remained present during the hearing after which the woman left with them to Karachi.
Marian had only demanded recovery of her passport and documents from her husband and said that she did not want any legal action against her husband.
The couple has an infant baby girl which is reportedly some months old. A police official told that her husband’s family was requesting the woman to stay with them at least until their newborn daughter becomes 6 months old so that she might breastfeed the child.
