RAWALPINDI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 14th Aug, 2026) On the directions of the Commissioner Rawalpindi and the Director General, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Salman Ghani, a flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the RDA Headquarters to celebrate Pakistan’s 80th Independence Day.
The main facade of the RDA building, along with Murree Road from Marrir Chowk to Liaqt Bagh and other prominent locations, was adorned with national flags, buntings, patriotic paintings and decorative lights, reflecting the spirit and enthusiasm of Independence Day.
During the ceremony, Additional DG RDA Masood Ahmad Bukhari and Director Administration RDA Nosheen Israr cut the Independence Day cake, also participated in the plantation activity by planting saplings at the RDA Headquarters as a gesture towards a greener and healthier Pakistan.
The ceremony was attended by Chief Planner RDA Muhammad Tahir Meo, Director Land Ghanzafar Ali Awan, Masood Arshad, Iftikhar Ali, Deputy Director IT Dawood Khalid, Deputy Director Admn Aysha Badar other RDA officers and staff members.
The DG RDA extended heartfelt congratulations to the people of Pakistan on the 79th Independence Day.
He said that our forefathers made countless sacrifices and endured great hardships to secure our freedom.
This day reminds us of the immense struggle led by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, whose vision and determination made Pakistan a reality.
He emphasized the importance of remembering and honoring the contributions of national heroes and expressed deep gratitude to the Armed Forces of Pakistan.
He said that we are living in freedom and dignity today because of the unwavering sacrifices of our armed forces. The Pak Army has always fulfilled its responsibilities with distinction, earning the trust of the nation and safeguarding our motherland with unmatched dedication.
He urged everyone to celebrate the day with joy, unity and prayers for the country’s peace, prosperity and stability. He prayed to Almighty Allah to keep Pakistan safe and guide the nation towards progress and development. He expressed confidence that, In Sha Allah, Pakistan would overcome all challenges and continue on the path of development.
Special prayers were offered for the progress, prosperity and well-being of the nation. The ceremony concluded with traditional patriotic enthusiasm and a renewed commitment to the development, unity and prosperity of the country.
