FAISALABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 14th Aug, 2026) Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) celebrated the 80th Independence Day of Pakistan here on Friday with national spirit and enthusiasm.
A flag-hoisting ceremony and Guard of Honor were held at the university.
GCUF Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam hoisted the national flag, followed by the national anthem. A smartly turned-out contingent presented the Guard of Honor.
University deans, directors, the registrar, faculty members, administrative officials and a large number of students attended the ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam said that Pakistan had been achieved through the tireless efforts and immense sacrifices of the country’s forefathers.
He said that it was a matter of pride for those associated with education to serve the country by spreading knowledge and keeping the light of learning alive.
Independence Day was not only a reminder of the freedom achieved by the nation but also an occasion to renew the resolve to work collectively for Pakistan’s progress, prosperity and peace, he added.
