MULTAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 14th Aug, 2026) A ceremony was held at Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) Multan to mark the 79th Independence Day of Pakistan, with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zubair Iqbal, deans of various faculties, Registrar Mr. Ijaz Ahmad, faculty members, officers and employees in attendance.
Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zubair Iqbal highlighted the significance of Independence Day and said that freedom was a great blessing from Allah Almighty, and its protection and preservation was a collective national responsibility.
He said Pakistan was the result of the sacrifices, struggle and unwavering determination of the nation’s forefathers. He urged the younger generation to play an active role in the country’s development, prosperity and stability.
Prof. Dr. Zubair Iqbal further said educated youth were the country’s most valuable asset and urged students to make Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s principles of Faith, Unity and Discipline an integral part of their practical lives.
During the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zubair Iqbal distributed Rolls of Honour among students who had demonstrated outstanding performance during the previous year. The recognition of high-achieving students was warmly appreciated by the participants.
The ceremony concluded with a special prayer for the security, progress, prosperity and stability of Pakistan. Participants reaffirmed their commitment to fulfilling their responsibilities with dedication and contributing to national development and unity.
