ATTOCK, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 14th Aug, 2026) A ceremony for the distribution of 20 wheelchairs among persons with disabilities was held at Government Asfandyar Bukhari District Hospital Attock under the auspices of the Attock Welfare Society.
Deputy Commissioner Attock Dr. Mudassir Ahmed Shah was the chief guest. He distributed wheelchairs among persons with disabilities and appreciated the welfare activities being carried out by the Attock Welfare Society.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Mudassir said that persons with disabilities are an important part of society, and ensuring their welfare and providing facilities for dignified lives is a collective responsibility.
He said that helping deprived and deserving segments is a commendable act which reduces difficulties and promotes mutual compassion in society.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the provision of wheelchairs would facilitate mobility and help persons with disabilities perform daily activities more easily.
He urged philanthropists and welfare organizations to play a more effective role in supporting deserving members of society, adding that welfare initiatives could be expanded through cooperation among government institutions, welfare bodies and financially capable citizens.
During the ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner also met with persons with disabilities and inquired about their problems. He directed concerned officers to ensure they make full use of government facilities.
At the conclusion, office-bearers of the Attock Welfare Society thanked the guests and resolved to continue welfare activities for persons with disabilities and other deserving segments of society.
