KHANEWAL, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 13th Aug, 2026) District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Abid has taken immediate notice of the death of a woman in mysterious circumstances at Chak 170/10-R, and ordered police to launch comprehensive investigation.
Police initially received information that the woman had died of electric shock, however, circumstances surrounding the death raised suspicion of murder, prompting Sadar police to launch investigation into the incident from all angles, police spokesman said on Thursday.
SDPO Sadar Circle Saeed Ahmed Sial and SHO Sadar Ramzan Gul, along with a police team immediately reached the spot where Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) and other forensic experts examined the crime scene and collected important evidence.
Police took the deceased woman’s body into custody and shifted it to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Police said, all aspects of the incident and the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death were being examined closely.
A murder case is being registered on the complaint of the deceased woman’s husband, while police have also taken her father into custody on suspicion and initiated questioning.
DPO said, investigation would be conducted on the basis of the post-mortem report and concrete evidence adding that police were committed to ensuring investigation in a transparent manner and no final conclusion would be reached until all evidence and the forensic reports had been thoroughly examined.
