RAWALPINDI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 12th Aug, 2026) Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit at FG Public school No. 2 Boys, Tariqabad, Rawalpindi, on Wednesday, with students and faculty paying tribute to the sacrifices that led to the creation of Pakistan.
Joint Secretary, Ministry of Defence Raja Javed Iqbal attended the ceremony as chief guest. He was warmly received by Brig Mohsin Raja, RD Chaklala Region, Lt Col Dr Muhammad Saeed, GSO-1, and Principal Afzal Tahir.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a Naat. Students then presented national songs, creating an atmosphere of patriotism and national pride.
Students also delivered speeches in urdu and English, highlighting the value of freedom and the sacrifices made for Pakistan.
They emphasized the responsibility of the younger generation to play a constructive role in the country’s progress, prosperity and development.
A special Azadi skit presented by the students depicted the historic Pakistan Movement and the sacrifices made for the establishment of the country. The performance was highly appreciated by the chief guest and other distinguished guests.
Later, Brig. Mohsin Raja presented a souvenir to Raja Javed Iqbal as a token of appreciation.
The celebration served as a reminder of the sacrifices of the nation’s forefathers and the responsibility of the younger generation to safeguard Pakistan’s freedom and contribute to its peace, progress and prosperity.
