SIC Delegation Visits Aror University, Lauds Academic & Research Initiatives


SUKKUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 11th Aug, 2026) A delegation of the Sindh Information Commission (SIC) headed by Commissioner-I Muhammad Saleem Khan visited Aror University of Art, Architecture, Design and Heritage, Sukkur on Tuesday.

The delegation included Commissioner-II Noor Muhammad Dayo and Executive Director Zulfiqar Ali Shaikh. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zahid Hussain Khand briefed the delegation on the university’s academic programmes, achievements and future plans.

Commissioner-I, Muhammad Saleem Khan appreciated the proactive approach of the university and asked the Vice Chancellor to nominate a focal person for close coordination with the Commission.

Commissioner- II, Noor Muhammad Dayo said the SIC is making all-out efforts to create awareness about the Sindh Transparency and Right to Information Act, 2016.

The delegation visited the Khan Aror House of Design and inspected the university’s four academic blocks where various educational and creative activities are underway. The members of the delegation also interacted with students and inquired about their future aspirations.

The delegation appreciated the availability of 150,000 digital books and learning resources for students and faculty through the university’s digital library.

The SIC delegation also lauded the initiatives taken by Aror University in the fields of education, innovation, research, industry linkages, scholarships and international collaborations.

On the occasion, the Vice Chancellor informed the delegation that Aror University was established in 2022 and has significantly expanded its academic activities in a short span of time.

He said the university has introduced contemporary degree programmes including BS Artificial Intelligence and Multimedia & Gaming, besides programmes in art, architecture, design and allied disciplines.

Dr. Khand also highlighted the achievements and success stories of the faculty and students.

The visit provided an opportunity for discussion on matters relating to transparency, access to information and institutional development.

The Vice Chancellor thanked the delegation for taking out valuable time to visit the university.
