RAWALPINDI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 11th Aug, 2026) The Difa-e-Pakistan (Defence of Pakistan) conference on Tuesday called for national unity, political and social cohesion, and collective action against terrorism, where the speakers stressed that Pakistan’s stability and future depend on rising above provincial, ethnic and political divisions.
The conference, held here at the Rawalpindi Press Club, followed a Difa-e-Pakistan rally organised in connection with Independence Day celebrations.
The rally began at Saidpur Road and proceeded along Murree Road before culminating at the Press Club, with citizens carrying national flags and expressing national solidarity.
Speaking at the conference, Parliamentary Leader, Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), Senator Manzoor Ahmed Kakar said Pakistan had been established after immense sacrifices and urged citizens to place their Pakistani identity above provincial, linguistic and political differences.
He said all communities, including minorities, were united under the national flag and that the Constitution guaranteed the rights of all nations and provinces.
Senator Kakar paid tribute to the martyrs of the Pakistan Army, police and other security institutions.
He said their sacrifices should serve as a commitment to collectively defend the country.
He stressed that Balochistan remained vital to Pakistan’s future and called for a united national response against terrorism and proxy warfare.
He also highlighted the need to create employment and development opportunities for young people so they could be protected from extremist and terrorist narratives.
Senator Kakar said Pakistan possessed abundant natural resources and strategic importance, but its progress required unity, economic strength and the active participation of every citizen.
Chairman Tehreek-e-Jawanan Pakistan/Kashmir, Abdullah Gul said the August 11 event was aimed at promoting the message of national unity and defence of Pakistan. He described Kashmir as Pakistan’s jugular vein and called for timely measures, dialogue and protection of public rights to prevent further deterioration of the situation there.
Gul also called for addressing the rights and grievances of the Pashtun population in Balochistan and providing them greater opportunities for leadership. He said Pakistan should be strengthened by putting national identity above sectarian, ethnic and political divisions.
The rally, led by Senator Manzoor Ahmed Kakar, was also attended by Abdullah Gul, tribal leader Nazir Jamal and others.
The participation of flag-bearing citizens underscored the event’s broader message of patriotism and solidarity.
A major outcome of the conference was a call for greater coordination between the public and state institutions in confronting terrorism, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The speakers also linked national security with economic development, calling for greater opportunities for youth and the business community in Balochistan.
