ABBOTTABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 11th Aug, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Sarmad Saleem Akram participated in the Mega Plantation Drive at Shimla Hills and also inspected the ongoing construction work at Abbottabad Park.
The deputy commissioner planted a sapling at Shimla Hills along with officials, WSSA staff and students participating in the plantation campaign. He appreciated their efforts and stressed the importance of protecting newly planted saplings to enhance the district’s green cover and preserve its natural beauty.
More than 150,000 saplings are being planted across Abbottabad under the Mega Plantation Drive.
Sarmad Saleem Akram urged citizens to plant at least one sapling on Independence Day and ensure its proper care.
During his visit to Abbottabad Park, the deputy commissioner inspected the ongoing development work and directed the relevant authorities to ensure timely completion of the project without compromising on quality. He said the park would provide citizens, particularly children and families, with a safe, attractive and peaceful recreational facility
