MIRPUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 9th Aug, 2026) Preparations for the third and final phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections scheduled for August 10 have been completed, with election material delivered to the relevant Constituencies in Bagh and Haveli districts, Chief Election Commissioner Ghulam Mustafa said on Sunday.
In a video message, the Chief Election Commissioner said around 460,000 registered voters would be eligible to cast their ballots in four constituencies during the third phase. He said comprehensive security arrangements had also been finalized to maintain peace and order during polling, with security personnel deployed at designated polling stations.
Ghulam Mustafa said all necessary measures had been taken to ensure that the electoral process remained transparent, peaceful and orderly. He expressed confidence that the arrangements would facilitate voters in exercising their democratic right without facing unnecessary difficulties.
The Chief Election Commissioner urged voters to exercise their right to vote without fear and play their role in the democratic process and formation of the government. He said a high voter turnout would significantly contribute to strengthening democracy in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
