LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 9th Aug, 2026) A schedule for colorful events has been finalised to celebrate Independence Day 2026 with full enthusiasm in Lahore city, while various sports, rallies, musical programs and other events will be organised in the city from August 9 to 23.
Sources say that the Independence Day celebrations have started with a bicycle rally on August 9, while a motorbike rally will be organised in Defense on August 10, and a karate tournament will be held at Nishtar Park Sports Complex on August 11, where meet wrestling and powerlifting competitions will also be held.
On the occasion of Independence Day, magnificent illumination will be done across Lahore city.
A special laser show will be presented at the Town Hall, while special arrangements will also be made at Liberty Chowk.
According to official sources, a mega concert and spectacular fireworks will be organized at Liberty Chowk on August 13, the National Squash Championship will be held on August 14, however, a grand flag hoisting ceremony will also be held at Huzuri Bagh on the same day.
The closing event of the Independence Day celebrations will be “Dangal event” on August 23, during which Lahore will be decorated with green crescent flags and electric lights, while the city’s entrance and exit routes will also be decorated with flags and lights.
