BAHAWALPUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 9th Aug, 2026) Police arrested 24 suspects, including 21 alleged drug pushers, during operations conducted across the district over the past 24 hours, besides recovering large quantities of narcotics, liquor, and illegal weapons.
According to a spokesman, teams from Kotwali, Cantt, Musafir Khana, Dera Nawab, Nowshera Jadeed, Sadar Yazman, City Hasilpur, and Sadar Hasilpur police stations launched a crackdown on liquor sellers, arresting 16 suspects and recovering 579 litres of liquor along with two operational illicit distilleries.
In separate operations, police from Musafir Khana, Dhor Kot, Nowshera Jadeed, City Yazman, and Sadar Yazman police stations arrested five suspects allegedly involved in drug trafficking. Officers recovered 2.9 kilograms of hashish and 85 grams of crystal ice from their possession.
Meanwhile, police from Saddar Bahawalpur and City Yazman police stations arrested three suspects for allegedly possessing illegal weapons and seized three 30-bore pistols. Separate cases were registered against all the arrested suspects, and further investigation was underway.
