ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 8th Aug, 2026) State Minister for Law and Justice Barrister Aqeel Malik Saturday said that judges are not appointed on anyone’s request or personal preference, but through the Judicial Commission, where decisions are taken in accordance with the spirit and provisions of the Constitution.
Talking to a private media news channel, he said a constitutional framework was in place to address concerns regarding judicial appointments and other related matters.
The minister said holding protests within the limit of law and the Constitution was not wrong, but alleged that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had so far failed to hold peaceful protests and had repeatedly violated rules. He also said PTI leadership itself was aware that what it was doing in the name of protest was inappropriate.
