MUZAFFARGARH, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 8th Aug, 2026) Rescue 1122 teams on Saturday recovered the body of a young girl Javeria, who had drowned and gone missing into the Chenab river a day earlier.
According to Rescue 1122 sources, the search operation resumed early in the morning for a second consecutive day. An additional boat was deployed to intensify the operation, in which 10 rescuers, including four divers and six swimmers, participated.
During an eight-hour search, the rescue teams covered nearly 10 kilometres of the river using boat-search and line-search techniques.
After a two-day operation, the rescue teams successfully located Javeria’s body and retrieved it from the river. Following completion of the necessary legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family.
According to the deceased girl’s father, Muhammad Arshad, Javeria had become distressed after obtaining low marks in her matriculation examination and allegedly jumped into the river Chenab.
