LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 7th Aug, 2026) Lahore Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Muhammad Faisal Kamran on Friday ordered immediate action against an alleged loan shark after hearing a complaint during an open court (Khuli Katcheri).
According to a Lahore Police spokesperson, a woman complained that despite paying Rs3.1 million against a loan of Rs1.5 million, she was still being threatened by the alleged loan shark.
Taking serious notice of the complaint, the DIG directed the SP Iqbal Town to initiate immediate legal action and ensure protection for the complainant.
During the open court, Faisal Kamran also issued directions on various public complaints relating to financial disputes, fraud and fighting incidents.
He instructed all SHOs to further intensify the crackdown against loan sharks and ensure strict enforcement of the law.
The DIG said citizens trapped by loan sharks would be provided every possible legal protection, adding that no injustice against any citizen would be tolerated and the law was equal for all.
He urged citizens facing threats, blackmail or illegal money lending to approach the police without fear and present their complaints at open courts for prompt legal action.
