BAHAWALPUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 8th Aug, 2026) Members of the political and legal fraternity in Bahawalpur hailed the landmark
defence pact, the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, as a historic diplomatic achievement of the government, saying the agreement would further strengthen Pakistan’s strategic partnerships, enhance regional security and promote unity among Muslim countries.
In their separate statements, MPA Sadia Bilal, Senior Vice President PML-N Lawyers Forum Malik Bilal and Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Railways MNA Usman Awaisi said the agreement was a manifestation of the confidence reposed by brotherly countries in Pakistan’s leadership and its professional armed forces.
MPA Sadia Bilal said the agreement was a major diplomatic success for Pakistan and reflected the government’s effective foreign policy aimed at strengthening ties with brotherly and friendly countries. She said the historic understanding between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye would open a new chapter of strategic cooperation and further consolidate the longstanding bonds of brotherhood among the three nations.
She said Pakistan, under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, was pursuing a balanced and proactive foreign policy based on peace, mutual respect and cooperation. “Pakistan has emerged as a responsible and influential regional country and the agreement is a clear recognition of its strategic importance,” she added.
Sadia Bilal said Pakistan would continue playing its role for peace and stability in the region while remaining fully committed to protecting its national interests and standing by its brotherly countries.
Senior Vice President PML-N Lawyers Forum Malik Bilal said the Pakistan-Saudi Arabia-Türkiye agreement was a timely and important initiative that would strengthen collective deterrence and contribute to regional peace. He said the agreement demonstrated the trust and confidence of Saudi Arabia and Türkiye in Pakistan, adding that the country’s successful diplomatic engagements under the present government had enhanced Pakistan’s standing in the Muslim world.
Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Railways MNA Usman Awaisi termed the agreement a landmark achievement of Pakistan’s diplomacy and said it was the result of the government’s successful efforts to further strengthen relations with key brotherly countries. He said the government was pursuing a policy of economic development, regional connectivity and strategic cooperation, adding that stronger relations with Saudi Arabia and Türkiye would bring new opportunities for Pakistan.
He said the pact would further strengthen Pakistan’s strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia and Türkiye and enhance cooperation in defence, security, technology and other areas of mutual interest.
The leaders also praised Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for his professional leadership and strategic vision, saying Pakistan’s strong defence capabilities had played an important role in building confidence among friendly countries. They said Field Marshal Asim Munir’s leadership had further enhanced Pakistan’s stature as a responsible and capable state and strengthened the confidence of Saudi Arabia and Türkiye in Pakistan’s ability to contribute effectively to regional security.
