LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 7th Aug, 2026) SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry former President Iftikhar Ali Malik on Friday welcomed the trilateral defence partnership among Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkiye, describing it as a significant step towards strengthening regional peace, security and cooperation among Muslim countries.
In a statement issued here, he said the initiative reflected the shared commitment of the three nations to deepen cooperation in defence, intelligence sharing, counter-terrorism and the development of indigenous military capabilities in response to emerging regional and global security challenges.
He said enhanced defence cooperation would improve the collective security of the three countries while also encouraging stronger political ties, greater economic collaboration and technological progress.
Such cooperation, he added, would create fresh opportunities for mutual development and long-term prosperity.
He said closer institutional cooperation in the defence sector would further reinforce the spirit of Islamic brotherhood and promote greater unity among Muslim nations.
Expressing hope for the success of the initiative, he said the partnership could become a model for broader cooperation across the Islamic world, contributing to peace, collective security and sustainable development. He added that the collaboration also conveyed a strong message that Muslim countries stand united against aggression, terrorism and all attempts to undermine regional stability.
