BAHAWALPUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 6th Aug, 2026) A woman sustained severe burn injuries while cooking at home in Chak-12BC, Yazman after her clothes caught fire, while her husband was also injured as he attempted to rescue her.
Rescue officials said the woman was preparing food on a gas cylinder stove when her dupatta accidentally caught fire.
“The flames quickly spread to her clothes, leaving her with approximately 50 percent burns,” they said, adding that her husband rushed to save her, but his clothes also caught fire during the rescue attempt, causing him to sustain around 20 percent burn injuries.
Rescue 1122 personnel provided both victims with first aid at the scene before shifting them to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) for further medical treatment. The injured were identified as Zahida, aged 38 years, and Wajid,aged 39 years. They were residents of Chak-12BC, Yazman.
