ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 5th Aug, 2026) Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, in his message on Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering political, diplomatic and moral support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, saying a just and lasting settlement of the dispute was possible only in accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
In his message, the minister said August 5, serves as a reminder of the unilateral actions taken in 2019, which, he said, had further highlighted legal, humanitarian and human rights concerns relating to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said the day also underscored the decades-long challenges faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir, including uncertainty and issues relating to their fundamental rights, adding that their aspirations for peace, justice and the realization of their legitimate rights deserved serious attention from the international community.
Tarar said he firmly believed that human rights were universal, indivisible and the fundamental entitlement of every individual. Every person, he added, had the right to live with dignity, equality, freedom and equal protection under the law without discrimination.
The minister reiterated that Pakistan remained committed to its principled stance that the Jammu and Kashmir dispute should be resolved in line with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.
He said Pakistan would continue extending moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people and would keep raising the issue of their fundamental rights at appropriate international forums.
Concluding his message, Tarar urged the nation to renew its commitment to justice, human dignity, peace and the rule of law on Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, and prayed for the day when the people of Jammu and Kashmir could live in peace, freedom and dignity.
