ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 4th Aug, 2026) Minister of State for Law and Justice Barrister Aqeel Malik on Monday expressed confidence that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would secure a majority of seats in the third phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections.
Speaking to the private television channel, he said the PML-N had already emerged victorious in the first and second phases of the elections with a simple majority and was hopeful of repeating the performance in the third phase with the support of the people.
Responding to reservations raised by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) regarding the electoral process, he said the party should accept the election results, maintaining that the AJK elections had been conducted in a transparent and fair manner.
Answering a question about the creation of new provinces, he said establishing new administrative units would help improve governance and enhance public service delivery.
