FIA Urges People To Avail Opportunities Through OEPs

MULTAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 4th Aug, 2026) The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Multan Zone intensified its crackdown on visa fraud, fake overseas employment schemes and human trafficking, urging citizens to seek overseas jobs and education opportunities only through government-registered agents.

Talking to APP, Deputy Director FIA Multan Zone Khawaja Hammad-ur-Rehman said a large number of people from South Punjab travel abroad, particularly to the middle East, in search of employment. Taking advantage of their aspirations, fraudulent agents lure job seekers with attractive employment offers, collect huge sums of money and later provide fake or illegal travel documents.

He said the FIA took prompt action on complaints related to visa fraud, adding that legal proceedings are initiated within days in most cases. FIRs are registered, suspects are arrested and brought before the courts in accordance with the law.

The deputy director advised citizens seeking employment abroad to contact only government-registered Overseas Employment Promoters (OEPs) or licensed recruitment agents.

He stressed the importance of verifying an agent’s registration, credentials and supporting documents before making any payment, while avoiding dealings with unverified individuals or organizations.

Khawaja Rehman said the FIA was not only taking strict action against visa fraud but was also closely monitoring illegal immigration and attempts to travel abroad through irregular routes, commonly known as “Dunki.”

Meanwhile, cybercrime and legal affairs expert Arslan Khan told APP that many people aspiring to work abroad become victims of fraudsters who deceive them through fake job offers and fraudulent visa schemes.

He said complaints of such scams were being received on a daily basis, with many victims seeking legal assistance. According to him, law enforcement agencies are registering criminal cases, arresting the accused and securing convictions through the courts.

He urged citizens to verify the legal status, registration and credentials of recruitment agents or companies before making any financial transaction to protect themselves from visa fraud and human trafficking.
