PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 4th Aug, 2026) Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Fisheries and Live Stock Khurshid Khattak on Tuesday launched a fish stocking campaign in Karak district releasing 400,000 fish fingerlings into the Zebi and Makh Banda dams,
Director General Fisheries and Assistant Director Fisheries, Karak were also present on the ocassion.
The minister said that stocking program would help protect aquatic biodiversity, increase fish production and boost economic activity in the district.
Highlighting governance reforms, he said that fisheries department has improved transparency and merit in the allocation of fishing rights.
He directed the fisheries officials to ensure continuous monitoring of the dams, protect fish stocks and prevent illegal fishing to secure long term success of the initiative.
