MULTAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 3rd Aug, 2026) Commissioner Multan division, Amir Karim Khan, conducted a detailed inspection of the restoration, beautification and development projects underway at the historic Fort Qasim Bagh and its surrounding areas under the supervision of the Walled City Authority.
During the visit, the commissioner reviewed the pace of work, construction quality and finishing at various sites. He inspected the library, examining its interior furniture, paintwork, finishing and overall quality. He also reviewed the cafeteria’s seating plan and instructed officials to further improve the layout. A designated area for feeding pigeons was also inspected.
The commissioner later visited the Damdama, Art Gallery, Langar Khana and the fort’s retaining wall. While inspecting signage and information boards at the Art Gallery, he directed authorities to prioritize high-quality material and reputable brands in future tenders to ensure durability and preserve the site’s aesthetic appeal.
During his inspection of Muhammadi ground, Amir Karim Khan expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of tuff tiles and directed the concerned officials to immediately improve the construction standards.
He further directed that before laying grass in the park, authorities must complete proper excavation, remove stones and debris, refill the area with suitable soil and carry out proper leveling to ensure long-lasting landscaping. He also stressed that the quality of the foundation and sub-base must be thoroughly checked at every stage.
The commissioner said photographs and videos of the completed project would be presented directly to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, emphasizing that construction quality must be beyond question and leave no room for complaints or inquiries.
“The objective is not merely to complete the project but to deliver lasting, high-quality public infrastructure,” he said, adding that the park should be transformed into a lush, attractive and well-maintained recreational space for the citizens.
Deputy Commissioner Multan Dr. Faisal Saleem, Director General MDA Rashid Irshad, and other concerned officials accompanied the commissioner.
