MULTAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 2nd Aug, 2026) A suspected robber was arrested after being injured during an alleged exchange of fire with police in Multan‘s Gulgasht area, police said on Sunday.
The encounter took place near Syedan Wali Khoi within the limits of Gulgasht police station when a police patrol signalled three men riding a motorcycle to stop during routine snap-checking.
Instead of complying,the suspects allegedly opened fire,prompting police to retaliate.
According to police,one of the suspects,id;entified as Muhammad Arslan sustained a bullet injury allegedly caused by gunfire from his own accomplices during the exchange.
A .30-bore pistol was recovered from his possession.
The injured was shifted to Nishtar Hospital for treatment while his two accomplices fled the scene under the cover of darkness.
Police said the arrested suspect was a repeat offender allegedly involved in several theft and robbery cases.
Further investigation was underway.
