MULTAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 2nd Aug, 2026) The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) on Sunday disconnected five gas meters during an operation against gas theft and the illegal use of natural gas in different parts of the city.
According to SNGPL officials,two gas meters were disconnected after they were found tampered with through reversed meter readings while three others were disconnected for the illegal use of gas compressors.
The utility’s Unaccounted-for Gas (UFG) Control Task Force also carried out door-to-door inspections of 60 consumer premises during the operation.
SNGPL said the crackdown was part of its ongoing campaign to curb gas theft,reduce unaccounted-for gas losses and ensure a reliable and uninterrupted gas supply to genuine consumers.
The utility warned that action against gas theft and other violations would continue across its distribution network.
