SIALKOT, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 2nd Aug, 2026) More than 2,000 police personnel have been deployed at 203 polling stations across Sialkot district to ensure security during the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly elections,here on Sunday.
According to a police spokesperson, security arrangements have been finalized on the directions of District Police Officer (DPO) Sialkot Captain (retd),Dost Muhammad.
The spokesperson said police teams were conducting continuous visits and inspections of polling stations while deployed personnel had been directed to remain alert and ensure maintenance of law and order throughout the polling process.
AJK voters residing in Sialkot will cast their votes at polling stations established in their temporary areas of residence.
The district police have ensured security arrangements to facilitate voters and enable them to exercise their right to vote in a peaceful environment.
